Help garden & harvest at the River Road Farms. The ½ acre garden helps to improve the health and well being of North County SD families by instilling healthy eating habits in children at an early age, and increasing food security and access to healthy food choices. This neighborhood garden site produces food to go to the North County’s Food Bank. The project will include weeding, cultivating soil, planting seeds, harvesting and more.
Additional Info: Be prepared to work outside. You must wear closed toe shoes! Bring a water bottle and weather appropriate attire that can get dirty. Dress in layers. We will supply gloves, tools, sunscreen, and materials, but feel free to bring your own favorite tools or gloves as long as you understand you are responsible for keeping track of them.
